Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR, created in 1987, has long been the gold standard for the treatment of many diagnoses including PTSD and complex trauma. It has even been praised by celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Prince Harry as pivotal to the treatment of their mental health issues.

So what is EMDR? EMDR utilizes bilateral movement, usually through eye movements, to assist the client in reprocessing past traumatic events. In this way the client is able to become "unstuck" with these memories and move past them.

Most clients experience a reduction or elimination of their PTSD symptoms following treatment and are able to enjoy life more fully. If you have more questions about EMDR or are interested in applying this modality to your treatment, please bring this up in your session.
